GRACEFUL MENOPAUSE

Reinvent Menopause with Nutritional Therapy and Feel Amazing

The bad myth of Menopause must be turned on its head. Menopause is possibly the most empowering time of a woman’s life and opens a new chapter of adaptation, resilience, and opportunity.

Once we have navigated the period of Peri-menopause which can be a tough time for some of us (my peri-menopause lasted 7 years and it was tough) we really can look forward to a new re-balance of our hormonal health that brings with it, in my view and experience, the real best time of a woman’s life.

So guess what – the trick is really that of accepting that there will be some changes and with self care and practical  nutritional and lifestyle interventions even Peri-menopause loses its fearful shadow. Shine the light of nutritional therapy on your mid-life changes and look ahead to getting to your your body and yourself under a new sunshine!

Come and work with me on your symptoms (mind fog, bloating, food intolerances, joint pains, sugar crashes, etc.) and we will be looking together at which are the pressures, stressors, and environmental influences that may be altering your sense of who you are during your mid-life changes.

I will accompany you through your new lifestyle and nutritional decisions to support long-term health and confidence – guiding you towards a thriving life beyond the pause.

Red Quinoa Bread

Red Quinoa Bread is super easy to mix and bake at home. You can make it both with quinoa flour or quinoa grains. All you need is Quinoa, water and salt. Some fermentation and an oven! 🙂

Red Quinoa Bread: I make this bread with other grains, also with rice, but my favourite is made with Quinoa. DE-LICIOUS!

Irresistible n. 1 Chicory Latte

Why not recharging your midmorning with an anti-inflammatory drink full of tasty ingredients,

which will help you stay on top of your energy without you getting bloated?
Enjoy this recipe for an anti-inflammatory latte! No caffeine, no dairy,
great taste, detoxing and environment friendly. Easy to make and shake.
Often we do not know that some of the most staple ingredients are not our friends. We have eaten or drunk them for so many years with no adverse effects, and then suddenly one morning a simple Latte bloats us and we have no clue what it was: was it the caffeine? was it the milk? was it the sugar? Or the caramel syrup we like so much?
Our immune defence system simply can no longer tolerate some ingredients because we have saturated our system with them.
This chicory latte contains anti-inflammatory ingredients and it just tastes delicious. Try for yourself and see the results.
You can buy the agave syrup (preferably wholemeal – i.e. dark) and the vegetable milk in any supermarket (oats, almond, rice, coconut, according to the foods your digestive system can tolerate). Buy the chicory coffee in any good Healthy Food shop.
Buy a good hot drink shaker (Knoops sell a really good one with an expanding lid). And you’re ready to go!
Chicory Latte
Ingredients (serves 2):
400 ml oats, almond or wholemeal rice milk
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch of ground clove
1 teaspoon chicory soluble coffee
maple syrup or agave syrup to sweeten (optional)
Method:
– Warm up the milk in a small pan and take it off the fire before boiling point.
– Wisk the milk in a jug until frothy.
– add the spices and the coffee and whisk more.
– sweeten the latte with a small amount of maple or agave syrup (coconut milk and rice milk are already naturally sweet).
You can sprinkle the top of the milk with ground cinnamon or cloves, or bitter cocoa, to taste.
Enjoy!

29 September — World Heart Day

A LOWER CARBOHYDRATE DIET is recommended to balance blood sugar and therefore reduce insulin and blood glucose levels. Elevated insulin is a major risk factor for heart disease and promotes inflammation. You’re also likely will lose weight on a blood sugar balancing diet, and that in itself will reduce the risk for many chronic diseases, including heart disease and high blood pressure.

To help your hear health make sure you enrich your diet with plenty of: fibre, healthy fats, fruit and vegetables. Avoid at all costs processed foods and vegetable oils (except of course for Extra virgin olive oil, rapseed oil, linseed oil and coconut oil).

Love Your Heart!
