Phlebotomy is the practice of drawing blood from patients for laboratory use to test a range of tests requested by your Nutritional Therapist or GP or other healthcare professionals.
A phlebotomy appointment can last for up to 1.5 hours as we may need 15 minutes for either letting the blood sample clot on a rack and/or centrifuging (which also takes at least 15 minutes). Plus also filling in the correct paperwork.
Appointments
In my practice I only draw blood by venipuncture to adults (in Scotland from 16+).
All appointments for phlebotomy will take place in my private clinic in Morningside. For privacy reasons, I will let you have the address by email once you have confirmed the appointment and paid for the fee.
Cost
The blood draw service is charged at £65 flat fee for up to 10 tubes – this includes any centrifuging or clotting on rack time.
Phlebotomy services need to be booked online or by phone and a £65 fee will be taken to secure your booking. If booking online please follow this link where you can also pay the fee: https://www.rossellahealth.com/product/consultation-balance-40/.
Please remember that we operate a 24-hour cancellation policy.
Collection of bloods
You will need to arrange for you blood collection by using a courier. Make sure your bloods are not collecting on a Friday as you risk having the sample sitting in a mail box over the weekend. It’s best to have phlebotomy done and for the test to be collected Mon-Thu.
Recommended couriers are:

Please drink plenty of water one day prior to, and on the morning of your appointment so that you come to the appointment well hydrated.
